... nature, and I ...

… or how did I start with photography!

Since my first post I have been wanting to share about one of my passions. Wildlife photography.

Just about one year ago me and my family have unexpectedly lost our brother. He lived back home in Germany, whilst I stay in Scotland. Due too the distance I was finding it difficult to connect with the loss and grieve. Even at the funeral it was a struggle to let him go, as it seems like nothing yet has changed.

When I came back home from the funeral in Germany, I stared to go for long walks, in town, forests and highlands. It helped me to work out some of the emotions that I was struggling with.

As I was walking, I realised a lot about my surroundings, the details of beautiful colours, patterns and rare moments in which you can watch a small bird, otter or fox. I decided to bring along my small camera and shortly after bough my first DSLR.

I have spent hours upon hours in a photo-hide, waiting for the moment to finally have the opportunity and fire of the shutter.

Those moments of silence, peace and bare nature, helped me overcome stress, grieve and let me find and grow passion for my surroundings.

If you have been through similar circumstances or have questions please feel free to contact me directly.
